URGENT ACTION: Call State Senate Today to Defend State Health Plan & Demand Stop Corporate Tax Breaks!

Jun 27, 2025

🚨STOP GIVING $BILLIONS MORE TO CORPORATIONS & WEALTHY🚨 Prioritize Worker Health Over Corporate Wealth!

Decisions are being made right now that impact our schools, healthcare, & economy. We are fighting for an economy that puts people first! The wealthy must pay their fair share of taxes!
The State Health Plan currently has a budget short fall of over $500 million, and rather than support vital state employees health, the State Legislators are seeking to give away billions more to the wealth and corporations.

While both the NC House & Senate budgets are BAD for working people, the House’s slightly better. We are urging all our members and supporters to make a phone call today to top Senate Budget writer, Senator Ralph Hise.

Call Senator Ralph Hise at 919- 733-3460

NC State Senate plan would deliver $3,650 tax cut to those making over $774k & only $5 to lowest-paid North Carolinians! SHAME!
Corporate taxes cuts in both will cost the state $235 million over 2 years. SHAME!
Call today to tell them NO more tax breaks for the corporations and the wealthy!

Hello, my name is. (YOUR NAME). I am a member of UE150, the NC Public Service Workers Union at (Name Facility) in (city). State Workers are asking that you prioritize workers and our communities, over corporations and the wealthy in the State Budget. The critical services we provide to residents in our state such as mental health treatment and education are at dire risk if you continue the massive corporate and personal tax cuts. Comparing tax rates to 2008, you already give the wealthy and corporations $12.5 Billion annually. Enough is enough. We ask that you at least match the House and do not continue to lower income or corporate tax rates at the expense of working people in our state. State workers should not suffer higher premiums and healthcare costs to fund corporate tax breaks! State workers also deserve much more than a 1.25% raise for our hard work!
